Near Amtrak waiting area for train departures. Made to order deli on various breads. Had a ham and turkey with Munster cheese. Nicely done and very fast given there was no line. Will remember this place next time I'm in town.
The only unpleasant customer service experience I have had in New York City so far was here. While most staff were fine (good, really), their work was undone upon reaching a cashier who required us to buy an additional drink because a previous staff member had offered, and we had accepted, a small drink as an option. This didn’t strictly adhere to the combo description on the board and despite everyone else involved acknowledging that it was fine, the cashier refused to budge, holding up a busy line and clearly displaying a poor attitude towards customers. Occurred at approximately 13:30 on 28 Dec 2019.
Yes, there is good pizza in Penn Station NYC : Don Pepe. Efficient, kind staff, fresh, tasty & crispy crust, savory sauce. Loved my veggie slice. Entrance & seating wheelchair-accessible.
Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! Got the pesto slice & it was heaven. Altogether iVisited this place 4times and that was out of my 10 days visiting NY. Now that iThink about it, the pesto was the only kind of slice iTried, it was that good it was all that iCould think about lol
Don Pepis Pizza is one of a kind! Good quality Pizza... Available in so many options!
I expected a bad sandwich at an inflated price because I was a captive hungry traveler, but this place was priced great (for a major city) and the sandwich was delicious. I got the Italian and that was a gamble because it involves oil and vinegar which usually makes the bread soggy. The meat was fresh, the cheese was fresh, the bread was fresh, and with a little bag of chips it was around $11. I would come back here even if I wasn't traveling. Definitely beats the $4 for slices of pizza that should be $1 a few stalls over.
Super fast and tasty. My go to when I need to grab the Amtrak
Grew up in NY and I can honestly say this is one of the best NY style pizzas I’ve had (plain regular slice)...ever! Crust is absolutely perfect..thin and actually slightly crispy..perfect sauce:cheese ratio. Minimal wait..no frills. By the Amtrak side of Penn...near 32nd and 7th ave entrance. Go here for pizza folks!!
This has been my irresistible pizza stop for decades, even after moving out of NYC. The staff is friendly and SUPER efficient if you're in a hurry, the pizza crust is perfectly made, the sauce is delicious, and the cheese is not watery.
Pizza, calzones, sausage rolls, you name it. I've tried just about every dish Don Pepi offers. The service is fast and at times friendly. The food is blah at best. Seating is at a premium as you get in where you fit in in this tight and busy space. The place will get you by in a rush but is by no means the best pizza the city has to offer.
This is a pretty forgettable slice. I get the convenience part being in Penn station and maybe needing something quick, but I strongly recommend you take your money to any of the places on the lower level. The slice was mostly warm and there was cheese and sauce on it. That's as much as I can give ya. Just go downstairs.Pizza Adventures: Destination #70
I have been eating the pizza here for over twenty years. Really good pizza and better than you’d ever expect in a train station. Definitely a big change in the offerings over the years. Now you see stuff like buffalo chicken pizza, one with a bright green pesto swirled on top of fresh mozzarella, and now the grandma Pizza, a hair thicker than NY style, rectangular but nowhere near as thick as Sicilian. Sauce on top of the fresh mozzarella which is my preference. Order well done!!
Don Pepi is surprisingly good Penn Station pizza.I'm from New Jersey and know a thing or two about a decent slice, and this is it. Admittedly, some of the slices out looked old and dried out and not great, so I carefully selected a fresher looking veggie slice, and did not regret it. It was tasty and loaded with veggies.Service was polite and efficient. I'll be back!
You'd expect a pizza place in a huge train station to be so-so, bit it is actually quite good. The choice of slices is pretty big and service is quick at the counter. The thing is, because there are always people here, the guys rush with heating your pizza, so you might get a cold slice.Other than that, the pizza is good with generous amount ot toppings.
